Bouncing Back: Coping After Being Cut From A Team

Each new season, youth athletes show up to team tryouts in hopes of making the team. However, there are only so many spots on roster, and sometimes get cut. Deselection, or getting cut, is elimination an athlete from a competitive sport based coach’s decision. Deselection aspect that experience, it can result negative psychological, social emotional consequences such as lost sense self, loss friendships, feelings anxiety, embarrassment, sadness.
